SUBEB TASKS TEACHERS ON SCHOOL MAINTENANCE CULTURE - THE ALTERNATIVE NEWS




As Public Primary Schools across the State resumed for 2024/2025 third term academic session, teachers have been tasked to inculcate maintenance culture of all government facilities in their school environment.




The Board Secretary, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Mikail Lawal, gave the charge, during the monitoring exercise to Public Schools in the State, emphasising the importance of maintaining hygienic environment while encouraging teachers to complement the government's efforts in providing quality education.






Dr. Lawal noted that most learners had resumed school and teachers were conducting welcome test to assess students' readiness for the new term.



"We can see that, learners are eager to be in school. Some of them are able to read the questions on the board and all the teachers resumed as expected.  Where we observe some lapses, we instruct the Head Teachers of the schools to take charge of those lapses," he said.




The SUBEB boss urged them to continue complementing the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s led administration efforts in making sure that every child in the State have access to quality education.



Reacting, Head teachers of St. Peters Primary School, Onipepeye, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Mr. Isiaka Olalere and St. Peters Clavier’s Nursery and Primary School, Itesi in Abeokuta South, Mrs. Tawakalitu Olokuta, appreciated the Board for the visit, promising to continue to put in their best to learners.




Other schools monitored were; African Church Primary School, Kerewu Oba in Obafemi Owode and Muslim Model Nursery and Primary School, Ago-Oko, Abeokuta North Local Government, among others.
